Bowen Cole
Bowen Cole is a dynamic individual whose greatest asset is his authentic soul and unwavering ability to stay true to himself. A talented young man with a wide range of interests and impressive achievements, Bowen is driven by a deep desire to spread joy, live with purpose, and achieve success in every aspect of his life.
From a young age, Bowen was involved with esteemed performing arts school Mark Jermin, who helped shape his early creative journey. Currently, Bowen is affiliated with Acting Up Productions, where he continues to hone his skills in the performing arts. One of his standout accomplishments includes being flown to Rwanda by S4C television channel, where he presented The World on Bedwar: Is Rwanda the answer?, a project close to his heart that reflects his deep connection to his Rwandan heritage.
Growing up in a culturally rich household, Bowen’s heritage is a unique blend of Welsh and Rwandan. Bowen’s worldview has been shaped by resilience and heritage, particularly his mother’s survival of the 1994 Rwandan Genocide. Bowen is proudly Welsh and fluent in multiple languages—English, Welsh, Kinyarwanda, Kirundi, and with a good grasp of French and Swahili. These are a testament to his cultural fluency and global outlook.
In addition to his performing arts work, Bowen is actively involved in raising awareness about social issues. He has previously been interviewed by BBC Wales News and Thats TV South Wales regarding the children’s commissioner’s report and ongoing concerns about racism in Wales. He also featured on Newyddion S4C to discuss the leave of First Minister Vaughan Gething, adding his voice to the national dialogue on Welsh politics. Swansea Bay News covered his visit to the King and Queen at the Senedd, highlighting his civic involvement. A passionate advocate for change, Bowen was honored with the Young Leader Award by Black History Wales. He continues to push for progress as an active member of the European Youth Parliament, Cardiff Youth Council, and Swansea West CLP where he pushes for progressive legislation and the betterment of his community. Bowen has also worked with Edutee Global, a non-profit organisation inspiring education and building communities, further showcasing his commitment to making a positive difference in the world.
Bowen’s love for music shines brightly, as seen in his A+ achievement in music and his deep connection to blues and jazz, with Misty by Ella Fitzgerald being a personal favorite. His Welsh roots are celebrated through his intermediate ability to play the harp, and his love for fashion has seen him walk the runway at Swansea Fashion Week, bringing his bold, vintage-inspired style to the spotlight.
Intellectually driven, Bowen is currently studying Law, Politics, Criminology, and the Welsh Baccalaureate, with aspirations of attending the University of Edinburgh in 2025. His interests extend beyond politics and the arts—he has a deep fascination with genealogy and ancestry, and harbors a desire to explore pottery, a craft tied to his great-grandmother’s pottery plant legacy in Somerset.
