NASHVILLE, TN  – RIAA Gold-certified songwriter Drew Ryder Smith has dropped his unreleased track “Damn Babe” as one of his seven tracks on the evocative, self-titled EP which was released Tuesday, May 30, other songs of the Drew Ryder Smith EP include “Exes”, “The Bottom Of It”, “Free”, “Calling Me Back”, “Don’t Wake Me Up” and “The Truth”,

Smith, whose writing credits include cuts by Merle Haggard, Randy Houser and John Schneider, teamed up with fellow elite writers Chris Yurchuck (cuts by Adam Hambrick and Brett Kissel) and Jayce Hein (cuts by Brantley Gilbert, Jason Aldean and Gretchen Wilson). Brilliantly clever in writing, “Damn Babe” also possesses a modern-country feel and top notch production; showing Drew Ryder Smith isn’t just a renowned songwriter, but a bonafide artist demanding respect.  “Drew is immensely talented, and this song represents that talent tremendously,” says Dawn DeJongh, owner of Burning Ground Entertainment.

As a solo artist, Drew Ryder Smith has built a reputation for authenticity, bringing a rock n roll element to the scene and that can be seen in his self- titled EP. Discussing song “Damn Babe”, it follows the moral of the story that if you have an idea that you believe in, don’t ever throw it away. You should always push onwards and if people don’t believe in you then they are not the people you should be around and you should always push yourself no matter what others may say.

Damn Babe is incredibly catchy and the line “You had to say goodbye, for me to understand it”, hits so hard as sometimes we have to walk away to truly blossom.  One great aspect of Drew’s EP is it strongly highlights his voice in different elements, for example, his song “The Truth” is accompanied by a piano and is very raw compared to other songs such as “Exes” which is a little more upbeat or “The Bottom Of It” which has a fusion of that classic old country soul sound.
