FFin & Dà Mhìle: A Celebration of Sustainability in Mumbles

Origins Of CJM Models - Lewys Havard & Noah Gee-Wing

Last Saturday, 13th July, I had the absolute pleasure of attending the FFin Eyewear popup event at the stunning Oyster Hotel Roof Bar in Mumbles. This captivating fusion of fashion and spirits was hosted alongside the renowned Dà Mhìle distillery, famous for their Dark Skies Rum and Seaweed Gin. The event was a vibrant celebration of Welsh craftsmanship and sustainable luxury, bringing together two remarkable brands in a setting that perfectly complemented their ethos.

For those not familiar, FFin is a sustainable eyewear brand with an artistic flair. The visionary owners, Anna and Niall, showcased their limited edition range of sunglasses, and it was truly a sight to behold. Watching so many enthusiastic individuals support the brand and rock these exquisite shades was inspiring. Each piece is designed in Wales and handcrafted in Italy using the highest quality sustainable Italian materials. The brand’s unwavering commitment to sustainability is evident in every aspect of their product design, from the frames and lenses to the case, pouch, cloth, packaging, and shipping. Every detail is thoughtfully considered to minimize environmental impact. FFin’s ethical eco-friendly practices extend to the people involved in the process, ensuring fair and responsible production at every level.

Complementing FFin’s sustainable eyewear was the presence of Dà Mhìle distillery, an organic distillery based on the family-run Glynhynod Farm in Ceredigion. Pronounced da-vee-lay, Dà Mhìle produces a range of spirits inspired by their surroundings and environmental ethos. Though I may not drink alcohol, I can certainly appreciate the energy and passion of business owners dedicated to their craft. My models enjoyed the samples immensely, and the phrase “passion infused with flavor” perfectly encapsulates the essence of Dà Mhìle’s creations.

The rooftop setting at the Oyster Hotel was the perfect backdrop for this event. Guests mingled while sipping on Dà Mhìle’s exquisite products and enjoyed the stunning views over Mumbles in stylish sunglasses. The synergy between FFin’s chic, sustainable eyewear and Dà Mhìle’s organically crafted spirits created an atmosphere of sophistication and eco-consciousness. It was a delight to meet and chat with the passionate teams behind both FFin and Dà Mhìle, whose shared commitment to quality was nothing short of inspiring.

Here’s to good health and continued success for both FFin and Dà Mhìle. I eagerly look forward to future events and collaborations that celebrate the best of Welsh craftsmanship and sustainable luxury.
